You’ve probably heard the term “Microdermabrasion” before but as skin technology advances so do the results that they achieve and this is definitely the case with the Medical Grade DermaSweep Microdermabrasion machine.

DermaSweep is truly the “next generation” of Microdermabrasion that takes micro-resurfacing to the next level!

Read on to see the difference between a ’Standard Microdermabrasion, and a ‘DermaSweepMicrodermabrasion’.

What it is?

Firstly, Microdermabrasion is simply the removal of the outer most layer of dead skin cells.

There are several types of Microdermabrasion. One type includes tiny crystals to buff and slough. Another type is called a Diamond tone that uses an abrasive tip to remove dull skin. Both can be effective; however can be quite harsh, abrasive and messy! Another thing to note with a Diamond or Crystal Head Microdermabrasion is that its only purpose is to remove the very top level of dead skins cells.

At Chrysalis Skin and Body Solutions we use the DermaSweep™ Microdermabrasion. It utilizes specialty bristles and an adjustable vacuum pressure suited for all skin types.

In addition to the removal of sluggish dead skin, it has another important feature called Infusion Therapy. It actually feeds the skin once treated. The infusion process uses a silk soft tip with a variety of anti-oxidants and vitamins to treat the concerns of the skin. For example Vitamin C provides a powerful antioxidant while also offering a natural protective shield from environmental factors.

The DermaSweep is used and loved by celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Oprah Winfrey, Charlize Theron and is the number one Microdermabrasion treatment in the U.S.! It is also used by leading doctors and cosmetologists, particularly in the Hollywood Beverly Hills area.

While Microdermabrasion is most commonly used on the face, we can also treat other areas of concern, such as back, décolletage and back of the hands.

What happens during treatment?

Using a variable-level vacuum and an assortment of treatment tips, the DermaSweep wand gently lifts the skin against the appropriate treatment tip, removing the top most layer of skin, cleansing pores and increasing circulation. Because the DermaSweep uses bristle brushes instead of Crystal Microdermabrasion or Diamond Microdermabrasion it eliminates any pain or trauma to the skin and actually feels very relaxing!

Your Therapist will discuss whether you are happy at the desired level of exfoliation or whether an additional infusion therapy would be beneficial to target your unique skin care needs for maximum results. Our 5 different infusions have each been carefully formulated with the purest cutting-edge ingredients. Please note there is an additional cost for the infusion.

Is the treatment safe?

DermaSweep treatments are one of the safest, lowest-risk, age defying procedures available. DermaSweep results in a clean, consistently effective treatment.

What can i expect post treatment?

Your skin will have a warm, pinkish glow that may last up to 30 minutes. A sunblock is essential to use afterwards and avoid tanning, sun beds and swimming in heavily chlorinated water for at least two weeks post-treatment

We highly recommend the use of homecare products to enhance your results which will be explained by your Skin Therapist.

We advise clients to avoid waxing for two days prior to your treatment.

Recommended timeframe

Multiple DermaSweep™ treatments spaced 10 days to 14 days apart provide long lasting results. The condition of the skin will be improved dramatically.

Expect your skin to be more subtle and smoother. Your products and creams will require less application while their absorption rate into the skin will be significant.

Hyperpigmentation, acne scars, fine lines, and stretch marks will continue to disappear gradually over a series of treatments.

A DermaSweep Microdermabrasion will take approximately 25 minutes to perform.

A DermaSweep with Skin Infusion will take approximately 45 minutes.

Am I a good candidate?

How much does it cost?

Depending if you have a standard DermaSweep Microdermabrasion or the ‘Complete’ facial which includes microderambrasion with an infusion, replenishing mask, and a pampering massage of the decolletage and scalp completes the treatment.

You can request which treatment option you would like upon booking or your Therapist will recommend the most suitable treatment upon assessing your skin.

While DermaSweep Microdermabrasion is a great stand alone treatment it is also a great combination treatment to add to another treatment such as photo rejuvenation, skin needling, LED, clinical peels and facials. In fact it is highly recommended to add on! A range of combination therapies and skin packages are available.
