Cosmetic Brow Tattoo

Cosmetic Brow Tattoo

Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery, microstroking, feather touch and hair like strokes is a form of semi permanent make-up that will partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments. Unlike a regular eyebrow tattoo gun, a sterile hand tool (microblade) is used as an advanced technique to create a beautifully designed brow with natural feathering of hair-like strokes.

Rachel has extensive experience in brow sculpting and brow artistry, handcrafting eyebrows, with detail and precision, to create the ultimate brow transformation. Choosing an artist with expertise and impressive technique is critical for achieving impressing naturally enhanced brows; Because each stroke is done individually, the artist is able to perfect the patient specific shape, color and density.

The treatment begins with developing the desired shape by measuring and drawing the outline to plot the shape and style you prefer. The colour choice is client specific and is mixed using a natural selection of semi-permanent micropigments to complement hair colour and skin tone. Varying shades of hypoallergenic micropigments react differently with each skin type and fade accordingly, depending on skin regimen, sun exposure, environmental and after care precautions.

Many people think microblading is a semipermanent tattoo, but this is not correct. Microblading is performed by manually depositing pigment superficially in the upper region of the dermis with the use of a hand tool with attached needles fused together in a linear grouping, it does not involve the use of a machine. Similar to permanent makeup brow treatments using a machine, the Microblading technique involves drawing individual, crisp hair strokes that can be very natural looking but nonetheless Microblading is still a form of cosmetic tattooing. The microblading needle groupings tend to contain needles that are extremely fine in diameter in comparison to the needles used in traditional tattooing.

The powder brow is by no means blocky, but a soft powdery finish that looks like you’ve just powdered your brows in (hence the name). Using a digital cosmetic tattoo machine, hundreds of tiny dots of pigment are implanted into the skin which resembles a soft powder finish. Once healed, the results look like you’ve just powdered your brows in. PERFECTLY.

No need to fear black/blue brows either, as colours for cosmetic tattooing have advanced in a big way. Pigments are now used with a vast selection of beautifully natural colours designed JUST for brows. From the lightest blonde to the darkest brown, the latest pigments have got you covered. It lasts far longer than microblading due to a cosmetic tattoo machine being used, not a handheld microblade. You can expect your powder brows to easily last from at least one to three years, with annual touch up sessions recommended to keep them looking on point. YEARS of brows on point! The Powder Brow is great for anyone who is used to drawing in their brows every morning and really like the look of a more structured brow. If you have Oily skin or enlarged pores in the eyebrow area it is recommended to opt for a Powder Brow, Ombré Powder Brow or in some cases Microblading + Shading (what I call a Combination Brow). This is because an oily skin type will not be receptive to hairstrokes, and partentially blur the strokes. If you have your mind set on hairstrokes, you can chat to me about a Combination Brow.

Most clients comment that the procedure is no where near the discomfort they thought it would be, and is similar to plucking.

Immediately post treatment, eyebrows will appear darker than expected, but will fade 50% during the healing process over the following 2 weeks. The 2nd application (Perfection Visit) 4-6 weeks later includes a touch up to ensures micropigments are healing properly and responding well.

Microblading, although semi-permanent, lasts between 6 – 18 months if proper aftercare instructions are maintained. The treatment is typically a 2 step application process, the initial appointment includes consultation and initial application, the second appointment is 6 weeks to touch up and ensure longevity of the colors used
